This photo of Clifton Luttrell Sr. is believed to have been taken in the mid 1960's. It was taken
where he last worked as a welder at the Peabody Coalmines in Coshocton Ohio.
While working at Peabody in Coshocton he was later involved in a mine explosion in which he was
badly burned. Because of the explosion he was forced into early retirement. The coal mines had
taken another toll on Cliff. He also suffered an ailment all too common to coalminers...blacklung.
Cliff is still greatly loved by his children and grandchildren. All of his descendants are proud of the
fact that he was a coalminer but saddened that this work may have contributed to his passing.
"Grandpa passed away when I was only 12 years old. Many years
have passed since he died in 1977 but I hold onto every memory of him as a treasure.
I knew him as a very loving man and I still miss him greatly." - Ron "Lee" Kellems
