Barthlynn McCoy is a Luttrell who's ancestors moved to Texas from Tennessee around the turn of the Century. She created this great web page that you really should check out. Barthlynn lists many facts about the Luttrell family going back for almost 1000 years! Did you know that the Luttrell's inhabited a couple of castles in Europe? Did you know that James Luttrell moved from Ireland to Virginia in the 1600's? Did you that Milton Jacob Luttrell served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War? Learn more about these and many other facts about the Luttrell's on Barthlynn's Luttrell Family Index.
Apparently there are many Luttrell's trying to trace their roots. To facilitate these efforts GenForum has created this bulletin board for Luttrell's to post questions and answers about the Luttrell Family history and family tree. This is a resource worth knowing about as our family strives to learn about our history.

Believe it or not Dunster Castle, home of the Luttrell Family for over 600 years, still stands. Check out this British site to see a photograph of this roomy domicile.
Another photograph at that little old place the Luttrell's used to have in England.
See what is quite possibly the earliest portrait of a Luttrell family member. This British site shows a painting of Sir John Luttrell that resides in the Inner Hall of Dunster Castle. Thanks to Juanita Luttrell Berrian for sending me the address for this site.
If you ever find yourself in Ireland you might want to check out another former Luttrell family residence; The Luttrellstown Castle. Visit this site to learn about it's history, see a photo, and even make reservations for a stay.
Juanita Berrian sent me this link to Luttrelltown Castle. Guests at Luttrellstown castle have included "Queen Victoria, Ronald Reagan, Prince Ranier and Princess Grace of Monaco to name but a few." This site tells you how you can arrange a visit. Recently I have received more info on this Castle. I promise to add it to the page in the future.
